Phantom Guest Profile Loading

29 Dec 2025 : Monday

Still in the learning phase with the P4’s tech suite. The UI looks great, but I’m reserving final judgment on the UX until I’ve used it more. Right now, I’m battling the ‘Guest Profile’ glitch—the car keeps defaulting to Guest instead of my profile, no matter the key. I’ve tried the standard reboots suggested on the P2/P3 forums (steering wheel combo, holding down the ‘X’ (cancel call/hang up) and the instrument panel menu button on the steering wheel), but it hasn’t stabilized the profile loading yet. Has anyone found a permanent fix for the P4 specifically?

  1. Guest Profile Issue / Digital Key Setup

In an effort to try to explain setting up keys for new owners. I have tried to describe how I have set things up (I have taken most the steps from Daniel Abbeys useful post)

I have 3 profiles: Owner (Admin), Stuart (Fob), StuartPhone (Digital Key)

Step 1: Create a Digital Key

    1 – Load Owner profile

2 – Under Settings > Keys, remove all connected keys from the Owner profile.

3 – Click create Digital Key (Right Icon)

4 – Follow steps to create digital key (will probably send you a new code)

5 – Once this is complete and done. Get out the car and let it lock. Test the digital key unlocks the car.

NOTE: This only creates a digital key. It does not attach it to any profile. If you do not attach it to a profile, it will default to Guest.

Step 2: Connect the Digital Key to a different profile

1 – Get back in the car with the newly created Digital Key. Leave your fob far away

2 – Load your 2nd Profile. In my case StuartPhone

3 – Under Settings > Keys, select Connect Key to Profile (Left hand Icon / may be the only icon if the profile is not Admin)

4 – Follow the steps to complete

The digital Key should load this profile now

Step 3: Connect the Fob to a different profile (Optional)

1 – Get back in the car with the Fob. Leave your phone far away

2 – Load your 3rd Profile. In my case Stuart

3 – Under Settings > Keys, select Connect Key to Profile (Left hand Icon / may be the only icon if the profile is not Admin)

4 – Follow the steps to complete

The Fob should load this profile now.

Alternatively, you can just link the digital key or fob to the Owner profile, but I kept things separate. Note: You cannot have the Fob and the Digital Key linked to the same profile.

    Hope this helps!

One more thing. When you have your digital key in your Apple Wallet, check the Passive Entry setting. When enabled, this will unlock your car when you are near it (I have it disabled)
