Exploring the Polestar 3: Insights from My Test Drive

28 Nov 2025 : Friday

Early November we started to look for our next car. Reviewed the Lexus RX/NX, both very nice designed cars with name brand backing. Next we went to review the Polestar 3 as one of our friend has the Polestar 2. Went online did a quick review of the car and reviews, given I previously owned an EV, this one looked promising. Made appointment online for a test drive on Nov 29 2025, Saturday at the showroom located at Polestar Washington DC, 1050 17th Street NW, 20036 Washington, DC. Drove into DC, and lucky got a parking right outside the showroom. Met up with Shawn, the Polestar representative. He walked us thru the different offerings/options for the Polestar 3 as the car was being ready for test drive. Walked over to the garage, very impressed with the initial exterior look of the Polestar 3, and even more impressed once entered the car. Very roomy, nice modern design with good lighting. Got in, adjusted the mirrors and seats, and off to the test drive. Overall the handling of the car is nice, little heavier then expected from my previous EV but overall it drove smooth. Lots of good features that all modern EV have, to include single pedal driving, auto lane change, etc… During the test drive, Shawn was very informative on the history of Polestar 3 and the upcoming Polestar 4. Back in the showroom for next steps.

We were looking to order the Polestar 3, but per Shawn they have paused the production of Polestar 3 as the Polestar 4 is being launched Dec 2025. So we asked for details on Polestar 4, options/prices/etc… Polestar 4 would be larger then Polestar 2 but smaller then Polestar 3, more like a crossover SUV. One interesting different of the Polestar 4 over other cars, is that, it feeds the rearview mirror via camera as it does not come with a rear windshield, very unique concept. This was mainly done to provide more room in the backseat and have the larger glass roof.

Walked away from the showroom, with estimated shipment arrival on the polestar 4 and it’s unique design.
